Invisalign®

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom made series of clear, removable teeth aligners that both dentists and orthodontists use as an alternative to traditional metal dental braces. There are many advantages to Invisalign, the most obvious being cosmetic. The aligners are transparent and are nearly undetectable when on. This method is preferred by those who want to get straighter teeth without the look of traditional metal braces. In addition, the aligners are also more comfortable than braces and because patients remove the aligners when eating, there are no restrictions on foods that can possibly damage the appliance.

Treatment for Invisalign begins with the dentist by taking dental impressions, x-rays and photographs of the patient's teeth and sending them to Align Technology where the aligners are made. The entire treatment process takes about one year depending on the complexity of the case. After treatment is complete, retainers composed of a similar material are usually required to be worn.
